Who am I? Why was I born? When will I die? Is it all written down somewhere?

The Akashic Records are energy fields and knowledge that contain the wisdom of the world. This includes the technical, scientific and creative knowledge that humanity needs for its ascension process. To ascend is to reach for the skies. It is to expand our consciousness till our individual consciousness and the universal consciousness become one and the same.

In terms of individual history and collective experience, every energetic vibration of thought and experience is held within the Akashic Records. They are believed by theosophists to be encoded in a non-physical plane of existence known as the mental plane.

It is, in essence, mind-stuff.

The Records contain the knowledge of your past incarnations as well as your future potential. This vast library also holds the wisdom of the Universe: from how the Universe works, to scientific knowledge and breakthroughs in creative inspiration.

References to these extraordinary records can be found in ancient cultures around the world, especially those that were around when humanity, as a race, was still in its early stages of infancy. Events of the past, future possibilities and even visions were recorded.

Some of these came to pass and some did not.

The word Akashic comes from the Sanskrit word Akash, which means, “sky, ether or space.” The word is derived from the root kāś, which means “to be”. It is the realm of the mind. It is when the mind expands and we begin to see beyond our individual consciousness and into the universal consciousness.

The Akashic record is like an immense photographic film or a movie. It holds within it all the desires and experiences of our Universe. Those who are able to perceive it will see: the life experiences of every archetypal human being since time began, the reactions of the experience of the entire animal kingdom, the aggregation of the thought-forms of a karmic nature–which are based on desire–of every human who has existed throughout time.

It is a vast and comprehensive record of how we came to be who we are–as well as where we are going.
