In the earliest days of our hunting expeditions, we humans were vulnerable and very afraid.
I wondered, who tuned into what channel was picking up on this frequency. I wondered if when we articulate the things that we articulate, to whomever it is we are articulating it to--even if it is to ourselves--if someone is listening to it and hearing it.
What is this flame that watches me? Why am I so enchanted in its presence? And what is it about light that gives it the strength to illuminate and enlighten; not just our homes but also our souls?
One day, I decided I would do an extreme sport and signed up for a 10-day Vipassana course. For those of you who don’t know: a 10-day Vipassana course requires you to meditate for ten hours a day, in complete silence. During those ten days, you have no contact with the outside world. As the starting date of the course drew near, I found myself more and more anxious.
